I chose SaskTel for a variety of reasons when I was looking for a career change. Obviously, wage and benefits were a major deciding factor when choosing a new employer but I knew SaskTel was more than that. The atmosphere throughout the building is warm and receptive (well maybe not on Monday mornings before the coffee kicks in!) and I like being here. Having worked a few jobs prior to this, I cannot stress how important it is to find a job that you enjoy. SaskTel also values people's lives outside of work and this shows in the way SaskTel employees participate in our community both on company and personal time. I'd have to say SaskTel embodies the Saskatchewan spirit of togetherness and community. It really is a great place to work.
As for my actual position, I've already worked on a variety of projects throughout the province. I've climbed towers in the far north and the far south, installed satellite dishes on rooftops, and I'm currently bringing some older projects to completion. It's a great feeling of to know that what I've done will help people's lives.
Outside of my every day job I've also taken training courses - in and out of the province, been involved with charity events, attended fun events, and after hours gatherings. I've only been here one year and I'm excited to see what SaskTel will offer me in the future!
