Opportunities exist in the Accounting department, which is located in Regina, for both Financial and Systems Analyst Accountants.

The Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant develops and conducts studies, identifies opportunities to add efficiency and effectiveness to current processes, interprets requirements, evaluates alternatives and responds to requests for internal and external customers. He or she may also participate in the development and enhancement of major systems and direct and train others.

The Systems Accountant

The Systems Accountant acts as a project manager, represents Finance on interdepartmental projects, implements system changes, performs business/system analysis to meet client requirements and identifies new opportunities. He or she will participate in the development of long term plans and develop computer-based applications.

Requirements For Financial and Systems Accountants:

The education required for an Accountant's position include a Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or a Degree in Administration/Commerce, or equivalent degree, with eligibility to enter the CMA strategic leadership program or write the national CMA entrance exam or have completed FA4 (Financial Accounting 4) of the CGA Professional Program. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to deal effectively with others and good analytical and decision making skills. They must also have the ability to plan, organize and manage projects in a self-directed environment, direct and train others and possess working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications, mainframe computers and Local Area Network (LAN) concepts.
