Draughting Technician

Draughting Technician positions exist in our Network Planning Provisioning and Access Department, which is located in Regina. Incumbents create and maintain schematics, drawing records, charts and forms. They receive, track, coordinate and schedule job requests to ensure due dates are met. They are also responsible for tracking incoming and existing job requests, reporting status, investigating and resolving discrepancies and training others in drafting techniques and procedures. Incumbents assure master drawings are properly filed and prepare and maintain monthly status report of work performed and work pending.

Requirements for Draughting Technician:

The educational qualification includes Grade XII Geo-Trig, Algebra and a post-secondary forty-week CADD program. If the educational requirements are not met, candidates who possess two years of computer graphics experience will be considered. Additional qualifications include working knowledge of procedures and symbols used in the maintenance of plans and records, ability to direct and train others, keyboarding skills of 20 wpm, good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with others.
