Service Representatives are SaskTel's entry-level sales positions and are found in various departments within the Customers Services Division. These positions represent the Corporation in all types of customer contacts including determining customer's needs and requirements, recommending solutions, sale of products and services, collection and adjustment of accounts and handling public inquiries.

A description of the various types of Service Representative positions are listed below:

Outbound Telemarketing Service Representative

Service Representatives in the outbound telemarketing area at SaskTel promote and sell, over the telephone, SaskTel products and services to existing customers. Service Representatives determine customer needs and requirements, and recommend optimum service solutions to the customer. 

Incoming Client Inquires Service Representative

Service Representatives that manage "incoming" client requests are located in various departments within SaskTel, including Customer Services and Mobility. These Service Representatives determine customer needs and requirements in a competitive environment, initiate and prepare sales proposals and recommend optimum service solutions to the customer. 

Front Line Service Representative

Service Representatives that deal face to face with SaskTel clients are typically located in SaskTel's retail locations, such as the Telmart stores. Service Representatives deal with customers for the purpose of retail sales, product returns and repairs, trade shows and equipment demonstrations.

Requirements for all Service Rep Positions:

SaskTel recruits individuals with proven sales experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated analytical and decision-making abilities and those who can work under continual pressure. Demonstrating the ability to consistently handle all customers with tact, diplomacy and courtesy, and having the ability to resolve disputes are also required.

Sales Associate

SaskTel's Sales Associates are intermediate level sales positions and are responsible for developing business solutions and delivering sales strategies, proposals and presentations to secure sales opportunities.

Requirements for Sales Associate:

Typically, these positions are staffed from within the organization due to the specialized telecommunication knowledge required for these positions. In addition to the in-house knowledge required for a Sales Associate position, general qualifications include superior communication skills, excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, and good planning, organizing and coordinating skills.

Sales Coordinator

Sales Coordinator positions are accountable for effective Management of Projects using consistent project management methodologies, skills, tools and techniques. They anticipate and manage the needs of SaskTel's client base by delivering outstanding customer service and value.

Requirements for Sales Coordinator:

The Sales Coordinator position is also typically staffed from within the organization due to the specialized telecommunication knowledge required for these positions. Successful Sales Coordinators must also possess demonstrated planning, organizing and coordinating abilities, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of basic marketing principles and sales techniques, and excellent analytical, decision making and problems solving skills.

Account Representative

SaskTel's Account Representatives are responsible for contacting assigned customer accounts to sell integrated voice/data/image products, services and solutions. They are responsible for establishing and meeting personal revenue goals including, win-backs, new revenue and the protection of existing revenue. As SaskTel's senior sales force, they are leaders of the account team, developing strong customer relationships and ensuring a high level of customer service.

Requirements for Account Representative:

Qualifying for an Account Representative position requires a combination of education and experience. Typically, SaskTel recruits individuals who possess post-secondary education in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing and Electronics or Electrical Engineering. The level of experience required by candidates will vary depending on the level of post-secondary education achieved. All candidates must successfully demonstrate aptitude in sales, the ability to develop and implement effective sales plans and the ability to develop and present customized sales presentations. Account Reps require thorough knowledge of business principles and telecommunication industry issues, they must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, and superior analytical and decision-making abilities.
