Trunking and Switching Technician

There are various Trunking and Switching Technician (TST) positions within SaskTel, each with a different set of job duties. Some TST positions provide high quality customer service through installation, removal, analysis, repair, and maintenance of equipment in the transport, digital switch, wireless, special services network and associated administrative systems. A TST in Saskatoon SSIC (Switch Service Implementation Center), is responsible for implementing all aspects of customer service requests on the Distribution Frame and performing  related maintenance and installation of DMS1U, PCM and DC Power systems. A TST in PNOC  (Provincial Network Operations Center) monitors alarmed Network Elements, refers alarms to appropriate Maintenance or Control Office for corrective action and coordinates all network activity and administers various procedures and reports (i.e. failures, threats, releases).  TST positions are located across Saskatchewan.

Requirements:
Education qualifications range from Level 30 Algebra and either Level 30 Physics or GeoTrig, to a two year certificate in Electronics or Telecommunications to a Degree in Computer Science. All successful candidates require good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with others.  A valid driver’s license is also required.
