SaskTel HOOP (Helping Our Own People)

SaskTel HOOP (Helping Our Own People)

HOOP logo

The idea behind HOOP is to help offset the financial burden of extended health care and illness, which are not always adequately addressed by existing social programs.  However, there are exceptions, excluding personal debt load.

Since its inception, HOOP has allocated over $500,000 to assist employees throughout the province.

HOOP is funded by an annual contribution from SaskTel. HOOP also receives donations from numerous employee groups and events scheduled around the province.

With the ever-changing business of telecommunications, and its increasing competitiveness, it is clear that only the strongest companies will succeed. But, financial accomplishments and loyal customers are not the only measures of success. A corporation's dedication to the satisfaction and well-being of its employees is also important. HOOP is a contributing factor in that equation, helping SaskTel achieve its goal of being among the top one hundred Canadian companies for which to work.

Confidentiality

HOOP maintains a strict code of confidentiality in all its dealings. However, while all information regarding the allocation and funds to individual recipients is strictly confidential, occasionally recipients are willing to offer information willingly in the form of a testimonial to help the HOOP Committee raise awareness of the program. This information would only be released at the sole discretion of the individual, if requested.
