to Tamara Mirasty
The 2008 award recipient in Education is Tamara Mirasty, she is 18 years old and is in grade 12 at St.Mary High School in Prince Albert. Tamara is a gifted student and is described by her teachers as one of the most outstanding students they have taught. Tamara displays a thirst for learning, an exceptional array of numeric skills and excellent ability to communicate. Her present calculus mark is 98%. Tamara ranks amongst the top 1% percent of students graduates this year. Tamara has consistently been on Honour Roll and her marks are in the mid 90’s. Tamara is recognized by her teachers and peers as a humble individual of considerable intellect. As well Tamara has been a volunteer for five years with Victoria Hospital and children haven crisis in Prince Albert.
Tamara became a mother last year to her baby daughter Janaya and she is determined to succeed. In her own words Tamara states “I have been able to complete one of the two goals so far which is completing high school despite all the obstacles of motherhood as well as my own life and with each milestone my confidence grows”. Tamara’s goal is to attend University and obtain a degree in Nursing.
