2006 news releasesAnother busy holiday season ahead for SaskTelMore than 800,000 calls expected on Christmas DayDecember 20, 2006 SaskTel is getting ready for another busy holiday calling season. On Christmas Day, SaskTel is projecting that there will be approximately 800,000 calls across the province and around the world. From December 25, 2006 (12:00 a.m.) to December 26, 2006 (11:59 p.m.) and on January 1, 2007 (12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.), SaskTel customers can call anywhere in Canada or the United States for $0.03 per minute. This offer is available to residential long distance customers with a long distance plan and will only apply to direct dialed and Calling Card calls (regular Calling Card surcharges apply). “Christmas is a time for families to get in touch and celebrate together,” SaskTel President and CEO Robert Watson said. “We’re pleased to offer this promotion as a special thank you to our customers. We hope it makes it a little easier to get in touch with loved ones during the holiday season.” About 45 per cent of Christmas Day calls are expected to be made to locations in Saskatchewan, while about 51 per cent of the calls will be to Canadian destinations outside of the province.
