December 15, 2006

SaskTel employees continue to contribute to their communities through the donation of thousands of dollars to a variety of non-profit organizations. This year Weyburn & District TelCare will donate more than $3,900 to 6 organizations.  The organizations include:

  • United Way
  • Salvation Army
  • Canadian Cancer Society
  • Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Arthritis Society
  • HOOP (Helping Our Own People)

  • “SaskTel TelCare is one way SaskTel’s employees demonstrate their commitment to Saskatchewan people and places,” Minister Responsible for SaskTel Deb Higgins said.  ”By supporting a range of worthwhile non-profit organizations, SaskTel employees are helping to strengthen our province.”

“Since 1950, SaskTel employees have donated money to SaskTel TelCare to support worthy causes across Saskatchewan,” SaskTel President and CEO Robert Watson said. “I’m proud of the dedication and compassion our employees display year after year by supporting SaskTel TelCare.”

SaskTel TelCare is a volunteer organization of SaskTel employees who contribute once a month to a common fund. SaskTel matches 50 cents for every dollar employees contribute through TelCare. In 2006, the TelCare fund contributed a total of approximately $340,000 to Saskatchewan community organizations.
