Salveo, a Saskatchewan-based project of SaskTel and Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU), today announced that it has selected CGI Group Inc.’s (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) platform for the next generation of a remote patient monitoring (RPM) system that records and transmits daily medical readings securely and conveniently from the patient’s home.
Salveo develops health and wellness telemonitoring software applications aimed at helping keep people healthier and save costs in the healthcare system. SaskTel markets and sell the LifeStat™ Remote Monitoring and Health Management service directly to consumers and healthcare providers in Canada, while Alcatel-Lucent markets and actively sell the Salveo platform to its global customers outside of Canada under the name Alcatel- Lucent TeleHealth Manager.
The agreement combines Salveo’s industry leading telemonitoring expertise with CGI’s depth of experience in application development and project management. A key focus of the agreement is utilizing innovative technologies to develop a cutting edge health and wellness system that will improve quality of life for patients while reducing costs.
