SaskTel Pioneers win 20 awards at international convention

The SaskTel Pioneers volunteer organizations received 20 awards for volunteering excellence at the TelecomPioneers 83rd Annual General Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia February 26-27, 2010.

“The award-winning SaskTel Pioneers have been serving Saskatchewan communities since 1947,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “The SaskTel Pioneers provide an example to corporations and volunteer groups across the province of how to effectively use volunteerism to help improve the quality of life in Saskatchewan.”

“The SaskTel Pioneers are wonderful ambassadors for SaskTel across the province and internationally,” said Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO. “We’re very proud of the current and former employees who donate their time to help others and make a difference in their communities. Congratulations to all Pioneer members for another great year.”

“SaskTel Pioneer members can be very proud of these awards from our peers at the national and international levels,” said Raylene Wellman, President of the SaskTel Pioneers. “Our members volunteer throughout the year because we believe in serving the community, but it’s always gratifying to be recognized for our efforts.”
