SaskTel awards 22 scholarships to Saskatchewan students

SaskTel has announced that it awarded 22 scholarships in 2011 to Saskatchewan students pursuing post-secondary education in a field directly related to telecommunications. The scholarships were awarded as part of three separate scholarship programs: the SaskTel Scholarship; the SaskTel and Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) Scholarship; and the SaskTel Métis Scholarship.

"SaskTel is proud to support Saskatchewan students as they pursue their educational and career goals," said Doug Burnett, Vice-President – Human Resources and Corporate Services. "These outstanding students from a variety of backgrounds represent the future of Saskatchewan and we look forward to hearing about their future accomplishments."

The SaskTel Scholarship program awarded eight scholarships worth $3,000 each to the following students:

Daylene Boulding Cassandra Konotopski
Justice Eashappie Brina Kurtenbach
Randall Fiddler Aditya Menon
Erin Harle

Lindsey Olson

(The application deadline for the 2012 SaskTel Scholarships is March 31, 2012.)

The SaskTel and SIIT Scholarship program awarded six joint scholarships worth $1,500 each to the following students:

Darcy Bear Charity Kay
Amber Crain Tia La Rose
Clinton Fourstar Roderick McLeod

(The application deadline for the 2012 SaskTel and SIIT Scholarships is November 1, 2012.)

The SaskTel Métis Scholarship program awarded eight scholarships worth $2,000 each to the following students:

Colten Barker Kaitlyn Skilliter
Devin Davidson Brandon Tarasoff
Brian Grosskleg Tamara Wiebe
Lacey Laliberte Daryl Wright

(The two application deadlines for the 2012 SaskTel Métis Scholarships are May 1 and October 1, 2012.)

SaskTel also offers the A.E. Blakeney SaskTel Bursary, a four-year $40,000 bursary. The application deadline for this year's Bursary is March 10, 2012.
