Starting out or near retirement: SaskTel named both a Top Employer for Young People and Workers over 40

April 28, 2014

SaskTel today announced it was  once again named one of Canada's Top Employers for both Young People and Workers  over 40 by Mediacorp Canada Inc.  This is  the second time SaskTel has been recognized with the award for Young employees  and the fifth time it has been recognized for the benefits and programs it  offers its employees over 40.

"Winning awards that recognize  SaskTel as an employer of choice for both young people starting their careers  and employees nearing the end of them, speaks to the wide range of diversity we  offer with our benefits, programs, and culture," said Ron Styles, SaskTel  President and CEO. "This award is testament to the fact that you can start and  end your career- while being challenged to explore new opportunities and gain new  knowledge and skills along the way- and never have to leave SaskTel, and that  is something not a lot of companies can say in today's job market."

This latest title complements  similar distinctions SaskTel has collected over the last year including being  one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for the fourteenth consecutive year and one  of Saskatchewan's Top Employers for the eighth time.

Canada's Top Employers for Young People and  Top Employers for Workers over 40 are annual competitions organized by  Mediacorp Canada, the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. These two special  designations recognize employers that lead the nation in attracting and  retaining younger employees and more mature workers to their organization.

SaskTel was  selected to receive this distinction based on many benefits that address the  needs of both young and mature workers such as competitive salaries, generous  benefits and programs, flexible work options to achieve a work/life balance,  and professional and personal development opportunities.
