SaskTel Launches High Speed Internet in Three More Rural Communities

September 28, 2017

Today SaskTel announced that it has launched High Speed Internet service in three more rural Saskatchewan communities. The residents of Thomson Lake, Togo, and Yellow Creek can now enjoy the benefits of SaskTel’s fast and reliable High Speed Basic and Advanced Internet packages.

“Today’s announcement further illustrates SaskTel’s commitment to providing the people of Saskatchewan with the communications services that are required to succeed in today’s digital world,” said Joe Hargrave, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.

“Since the beginning of the year we have expanded High Speed Internet service to 13 rural communities spread throughout our province and we plan to expand it even further,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel Acting President and CEO. “We take great pride in knowing that our investments to bring modern communications services to rural parts of Saskatchewan will greatly improve the opportunities available to the people living there.”

These expansions are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest over $300 million in capital in Saskatchewan in 2017/18 and $1.4 billion through 2016-2021. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents will continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.

SaskTel High Speed Basic Internet offers download speeds of up to 5 megabits per second (Mbps) while High Speed Advanced Internet offers download speeds of up to 10 Mbps. All SaskTel High Speed Internet packages include unlimited usage, free installation, in-home Wi-Fi, spam and email virus filtering, and 24/7 helpdesk support – all for one low monthly price.
