SaskTel bringing infiNET to four more communities in 2018

The Fastest Network in Saskatchewan with Infinite Potential

SaskTel today announced that it plans to expand infiNET™, Saskatchewan’s fastest fibre optics network, to Emerald Park, Martensville, Warman and White City beginning in 2018. infiNET will be deployed in these communities in two stages.

The first stage will focus on upgrading the neighbourhoods that are served by aerial infrastructure. Construction is projected to start in the coming weeks, with the first customers in these areas expected to be upgraded to infiNET beginning this spring.

The second stage will centre on upgrading the neighbourhoods that are served by underground infrastructure. The timetable for this stage of the project is still being finalized.

"I am very pleased to see this investment by SaskTel in our community. Access to high-speed internet is extremely important to the City of Martensville. From the many conversations I have with residents, it is clear that increased bandwidth and faster internet is a priority and can potentially open new opportunities for business," said Kent Muench, Mayor of Martensville. "I would like to thank SaskTel for their investment in our community and I look forward to the expansion of infiNET in Martensville."

"SaskTel is focused on building world-class networks that strengthen our communities and their people," said Joe Hargrave, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. "This expansion firmly demonstrates SaskTel’s commitment to providing leading-edge technology and communication services to the residents of Saskatchewan."

"We are extremely proud of the progress we have made in deploying infiNET in the province," said Doug Burnett, Acting SaskTel President and CEO. "We feel that our infiNET network is one of the most advanced anywhere in the world today."
