SaskTel Continues to Expand High Speed Fusion Internet
Today SaskTel announced that High Speed Fusion Internet will be available on 25 more towers serving rural Saskatchewan by the end of March 2018.
These towers serve the vicinities of Alameda, Arelee, Balgonie, Bethune, Birch Hills, Colfax, Delisle, Grandora, Indian Head, Kelvington, Kenosee Lake, Langbank, Macklin, Moosomin, Outlook, Pense, Pike Lake, Porcupine Plain, Preeceville, Rabbit Lake, Red Deer Hill, Vibank, Wakaw, Wynyard and Zehner.
"Having access to fast and reliable high speed Internet in rural Saskatchewan is a key priority of our government," said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. "By expanding Fusion Internet, SaskTel is opening the door on new and exciting opportunities for our residents and businesses who call rural Saskatchewan home."
"SaskTel is committed to investing in cutting edge technologies that provide our customers the tools they need to connect with their world," said Doug Burnett, SaskTel Acting President and CEO. "With download speeds up to 10 Mbps (Megabits per second), High Speed Fusion Internet service offers enough bandwidth for rural customers to get more out of the Internet than ever before."
This expansion is part of a $4.2 million investment by SaskTel to bring High Speed Fusion Internet to 34 rural locations by Spring 2018. Once completed, SaskTel will have 102 Fusion equipped towers serving rural areas province wide. To date, SaskTel has expanded Fusion service to six other towers as part of this investment. A full list of towers and locations to be served can be found in the appendix below.
SaskTel's investment to expand High Speed Fusion Internet service is part of the Government of Saskatchewan's larger initiative to provide rural communities with enhanced access to reliable cellular and high speed Internet services.
