2010 news releasesImproved cellular coverage in Kelfield, Loon Lake, Qu'Appelle areasJanuary 27, 2010 SaskTel today announced digital cellular coverage improvements in the Kelfield, Loon Lake North and Qu’Appelle areas. Customers in the Kelfield area can expect improved coverage along Highway 51 between Kerrobert and Biggar. Customers in the area north of Loon Lake can expect improved coverage along Highway 55 and in the area between Rapid View and Peerless. Qu’Appelle customers can expect generally improved coverage within the Town of Qu’Appelle. “SaskTel’s ongoing efforts to expand cellular coverage in Saskatchewan communities are paying off for both residential and business customers,” Minister responsible for SaskTel Don Morgan said. “By improving coverage along highways, in buildings and in vehicles, SaskTel’s world-class wireless network continues to evolve and to add value for SaskTel cellular customers.” “SaskTel understands that reliable coverage is critical for many of our customers. Digital cellular service provides excellent call clarity and provides wireless customers with access to e-mail, corporate databases and the internet,” said Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO. “We will continue to evaluate the network to provide our cellular customers with the latest wireless technologies over the largest wireless network in the province.” Digital cellular service provides advanced functionality that allows customers to use the newest and most innovative services such as sending and receiving text, picture and video messages, communicating via push-to-talk service, browsing the internet, downloading video clips, watching streaming video, performing banking transactions and accessing real-time information such as news, weather and stock quotes all from their cell phone.
