SaskTel to receive Special Recognition Award from Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame

Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame announced today that it will honour SaskTel with the 2008 Special Recognition Award for SaskTel’s contribution to the advancement of telecommunications in Canada.

“This is a great honour for SaskTel and every employee that has helped to build the company over the past 100 years,” SaskTel President and CEO Robert Watson said. “SaskTel has built a reputation in our industry for innovation and creativity, both of which have helped us to build a world-class communications network for the people of Saskatchewan.”

The award will be presented at the Hall of Fame’s 4th Annual Telecom Laureate Awards Gala in Gatineau, Quebec on October 29, 2008. SaskTel will share the award with MTS and Telus.
