If you're a 1X data rate plan subscriber or Tethered data rate plan subscriber, you can download and install the driver below to enable your phone to act as a wireless modem between your laptop and the 1X network. After the cellular device is plugged into the laptop, the laptop will access the 1X network.
Run this software to configure your laptop. Then, every time you connect your cellular device to your laptop, run the application and you will have a wireless connection. If the cellular device rings, leave the USB cable connected and answer it. When you hang up, your data connection will carry on.
To install the 1X driver/Tethered data driver for your phone:
- Click 1xdriver-tethered.zip below.
- At the File Download prompt, choose Save.
- Double-click 1xdriver-tethered.zip on your computer.
- In the WinZip Wizard, follow the instructions and prompts to unzip the file, choosing Unzip and Install then Install Now.
- In the SaskTel 1X\Tethered Data Cable Setup Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the installation.

Note:
- By default, your 1x\Tethered data username is your 10 digit cellular number followed by @1x.stm.sk.ca (ex. 3062229999@1x.stm.sk.ca) and your password is your 7 digit cellular number (ex. 2229999).
