Email on your phone - notification and forwarding

With your text messaging service, you can now take advantage of e-mail notification and e-mail forwarding1 free of charge.

You can set up your web-based (POP3) or corporate e-mail accounts to send either notification or a forwarded copy of new mail to the screen of your digital cellular phone.

You can establish preferences so you only receive notification/forwarded copies of e-mail messages:

  • from key people, or
  • about key subjects, or
  • email flagged as urgent or high priority.

How e-mail notification & forwarding can help you
Example 1
:One of your key clients, "Bill", frequently communicates with you through e-mail. You are often out of the office, but you want to deal with Bill quickly when an issue arises. You establish e-mail notification so that each time Bill sends you an e-mail, you receive a text message on your phone that reads: "Message from Bill. Call him at 555-5555." You follow up with Bill quickly, and he is impressed with your quick turnaround time and great service.

Example 2: You are trying to close the deal on an important sale, and service is everything. You are frequently out of the office for customer appointments. Each time you receive an e-mail from a key client, you receive a copy of the message on your digital cellular phone. Although you can only receive a maximum of 200 characters, you get the basics and then follow up with a phone call. Your clients are impressed with your quick turnaround time.
