Voice and Data Systems Design

  • Customer Systems Analysts (CSA) work with the Sales teams, Client Technology Managers and SaskTel's customers to determine the unique communication and IT requirements for our customers;
  • Completes a Systems Design by analyzing customer's current and future communication requirements;
  • Provisions systems and creates documentation to supply each individual customer with network drawings, routing tables and design information.

Customer Premises Cabling Design

  • SaskTel provides professional advantages - SaskTel has 6 Cabling Designers with a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation and is globally recognized within the ITS industry.
  • RCDD offers superior knowledge, continuing education, compliance, safety and vendor neutrality.

Complete Network Discovery and Assessment

  • Unbiased evaluation of customer's network that includes:
    • Inventory, Network Optimization, Application Performance Analysis, VoIP Readiness, Future Network Growth / Expansion and Troubleshooting.
  • These steps are combined in analyzing company's data network to identify potential problems, improve efficiency and lay out the possibilities of new accelerated applications.

Wireless Site Surveys

  • SaskTel Customer Systems Analysts perform surveys in order to determine the necessary number of wireless access points.
  • These surveys provide clients with optimal locations to receive the best possible level of reliable wireless coverage within customers Wireless Local Area Network.

Industry trained and certified experts that install, upgrade and maintain advanced integrated voice, data, video, IP and IT customer premises based communications.

Training and Coordination

  • Primarily suited to new / upgraded telephone and voicemail solutions.
  • Training and coordination includes:
    • Station Review to communicate with the customer what the unique requirements of each user is;
    • Communication System Design to plan all call flows and routes for menu application;

We are now developing Implementation and Support Professional Services specific to our Small/Medium Business customers. The first of these initiatives is the Basic Network Discovery.

Basic Network Discovery

  • If your Small / Medium Business is exploring the option of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, a Basic Network Discovery is essential for evaluating your current network and providing recommendations for improvement to guide a network migration and evolution strategy.
  • A Basic Network Discovery recommends improvements for your company's current and future network needs.

How it works
SaskTel will:

  • Evaluate the current state of your network to identify potential problems and provide recommendations for network changes to support a successful VoIP implementation;
  • Conduct testing on Local Area Networks to detect common network issues, including high utilization, media errors and packet loss;
  • Include a visual inspection for network issues which may impact VoIP quality or cause network downtime.

In recent studies, it was estimated that 90% of end-customer networks are not properly configured or designed to handle real-time VoIP network traffic, resulting in call quality issues after implementation.

The Basic Network Discovery is only the first of several Small/Medium Business professional services initiatives.
