This corded phone is fully hearing aid compatible. It features a receiving volume of up to 30dB making it easy to hear and adjustable tone control means you can adjust the pitch of the receiving sound to customize it to your hearing loss. HA-40 Hard of Hearing Amplifier

IP Relay service

IP Relay service is a form of traditional Message Relay service. IP Relay employs specially trained operators to enable people with hearing or speech difficulties, to place and receive telephone calls to and from standard telephone users, using an internet enabled PC or mobile device. Message Relay service

Message Relay service employs specially trained operators to enable people with hearing or speech difficulties, to place and receive telephone calls to and from standard telephone users. All you need is a Telewriter (TTY) connected to a landline or wireless phone. Learn more about Message Relay service.


Telewriter (TTY)

A telewriter (TTY) allows for communication over telephone lines using typed messages. Learn more about the Telewriter. This product may qualify for a subsidy.


TTY Directory Designation

The letters TTY can be displayed following a listed name in the DirectWest phone book to indicate the person listed is a telewriter user. This service is no charge.

Text with 9-1-1 (T9-1-1)

Allows deaf, hard of hearing, and speech impaired persons to communicate to 9-1-1 call centres using wireless text messaging (SMS). Learn more about Text with 9-1-1.


Text Messaging only plan - Prepaid only

With our Prepaid Pay-Per-Use plan you can add Text Messaging Unlimited and communicate quickly and easily with friends and family. Learn about our Text Messaging on Prepaid.

Wireless Accessibility Credit

Customers with a hearing impairment are eligible for a $15/month Wireless Accessibility Credit.  This credit can be applied to all postpaid voice and data plans (voice-only, data-only, and prepaid plans are not eligible).  You will be required to fill out an Accessibility Self-declaration form (PDF) to receive the credit. 


Wireless 30-day trial

Customers who have a hearing impairment are eligible for a wireless 30-day trial period on any new device activation and will have the full amount of voice, text, and/or data included with their plan to use during their extended trial period.  To qualify, you must fill out an Accessibility Self-declaration form (PDF).


maxTV

AMI-TV

AMI-TV is offered to all maxTV subscribers on channel 554. AMI-TV is a national English language descriptive-video and closed captioning channel for people who are blind, low vision, deaf or hard of hearing. For more information visit http://www.ami.ca/.


Closed captioning

Closed captioning provides on-screen text for deaf and hard of hearing TV viewers. Closed captioning can be turned on or off by pressing Menu on the remote control and going into Settings. Learn more about turning on closed captioning.


maxTV Caller ID

maxTV 30-day trial

Customers who have a visual or hearing impairment can get a maxTV 30-day trial. During this trial, customers can cancel their maxTV service if it does not suit their accessibility needs and receive a full refund. To qualify, you must self-declare by calling 1.800.SASKTEL (1.800.727.5835).

Customers who have a hearing impairment can add or change services at any SaskTel Store with a sign language interpreter. Visit a SaskTel Store near you to book an appointment.

If you have a disability, you may qualify for a subsidy on one of our phone accessibility products (limit of 1 per person).
