SaskTel High Speed Fusion available to new customers in another 25 locations

November 28, 2014

Today SaskTel announced that High Speed Fusion Internet service, a fixed wireless LTE-TDD service, is now available to new subscribers being serviced from the following tower locations: Avonlea, Bruno, Candle Lake, Canora, Central Butte, Choiceland, Climax, Dorintosh, Elbow, Etomami Lake, Fort Qu'Appelle, Hague, Hodgeville, Lajord, Leask, Lestock, Mankota, Meath Park, Middle Lake, Nipawin, Paynton, Raymore, Rosthern, Stewart Valley and Wimmer.

“High Speed Fusion Internet service will provide customers in these 25 tower locations with more than twice the speed that was possible with our former WBBI service,” said Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO. “We were the first to offer this service in North America and based on initial feedback we have received, we are very confident that customers will be happy with the upgraded service.”

SaskTel High Speed Fusion Internet service is the recommended Internet choice for customers in the listed locations, however customers can still choose SaskTel Satellite Internet service or 4G mobile Internet service if they reside within a 4G coverage area.  Further deployment of High Speed Fusion Internet service to new customers in the remaining 17 locations that were previously served by WBBI (Wireless Broadband Internet) will be announced in the coming months.  See Appendix for the full range of service options and prices.

SaskTel High Speed Fusion Internet service will be available for $79.95 per month and will offer download speeds of up to 5 Mbps (Megabits per second). With a download speed of 5 Mbps customers can download 10 photos in as quick as 1 minute, download 15 songs in as fast as 2 minutes or download a (regular/standard) movie in just 45 minutes.
