SaskTel believes that mentorship programs at a secondary level of education can play a vital role in shaping the future workforce of our province. In fact, evaluations of mentorship programs have shown that a youth's one-on-one relationship with a supportive adult can lead to a number of positive outcomes. In fact, studies show that a student with a mentor is 52% less likely to miss school, 46% less likely to start using drugs, 37% less likely to lie to parents, 32% less likely to use physical violence, and 27% less likely to use alcohol. Most amazing of all is a student with a mentor has an 82% chance of graduating high school compared to 42% if in a single parent home, or 67% if from a two parent household.
