SaskTel doubles Internet speeds in 10 rural communities

November 19, 2015

Today SaskTel announced that residents living in 10 rural communities across Saskatchewan will be able to enjoy the benefits of faster High Speed Internet with the introduction of High Speed Advanced Internet. The communities of Codette, Davidson, Debden, Frontier, Grenfell, Ogema, Rapid View, Rhein, Waldheim, and Weldon now have access to High Speed Advanced Internet as well as High Speed Basic Internet.

“The Government of Saskatchewan recognizes that rural communities need access to High Speed Internet” said Jim Reiter, Minister Responsible for SaskTel “The world is becoming increasingly connected and this upgrade will benefit both residential and business customers in these communities.”

High Speed Advanced Internet offers download speeds of up to 10 Mbps (megabits per second) which is up to twice as fast as High Speed Basic Internet. SaskTel High Speed Internet includes unlimited usage, free installation, in-home Wi-Fi, spam and email virus filtering, and 24/7 helpdesk support – all for one low monthly price.

For more information or to subscribe to our DSL high speed service, customers can visit any SaskTel Authorized Dealer or SaskTel Store, visit our web site at, or call 1-800-SASKTEL (1-800-727-5835).
