SaskTel releases 2016/17 Corporate Social Responsibility report

July 27, 2017

SaskTel today announced the release of its 2016/17 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. Moving beyond simply reporting SaskTel’s financial contributions to the wider community, the report also details the many ways the company is working to make Saskatchewan a better place by strengthening a corporate culture that puts customers, partners, and employees first.

“CSR has been integrated into our business strategy for many year, and continues to help us deliver on revenue growth, operational efficiency, risk management and strategic alignment,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel’s Acting President and Chief Executive Officer. “Few companies have the historic ties to Saskatchewan that we do and we want to live up to the legacy of our unique position by taking a lead role when it comes to corporate social responsibility.”

SaskTel’s corporate social responsibility initiatives are guided by the following five key focus areas:

  • Ethical Leadership – SaskTel’s activities are guided by a set of values and principles designed to help all employees make ethical decisions in the conduct of the corporation’s business.
  • Improving the Standard of Living for People in Saskatchewan – SaskTel has and will continue to support the people of Saskatchewan through a variety of ways.
  • Increased Access to Products and Services – We will be a customer’s first choice by designing and delivering a positive customer experience every time.
  • Employee Standards – The key to SaskTel’s success has always been our people. They are not just our strength, but also the kind of people who volunteer to lead, coach, counsel and care across our province.
  • Environmental Stewardship – The SaskTel Eco(logical) strategy is innovative in its approach, laying out specific and aggressive goals for the organization to strive towards.

The 2016/17 CSR Report highlights the corporation’s continued tradition of supporting communities through financial and in-kind contributions to non-profit and charitable organizations across the province. In 2016/17, the company invested over $2.75 million in 888 organizations, community associations, venues, events and partnerships across 217 communities in the province.
