SaskTel continues to enhance internet speeds in rural Saskatchewan communities

March 7, 2019

Today SaskTel announced the expansion of interNET Extended 25 service to 19 more communities in rural Saskatchewan -- see the list below. Residents and businesses in these communities now have access to download speeds up to 25 Megabits per second (Mbps), the fastest SaskTel has ever offered in rural areas.

“Reliable internet access is increasingly important to driving a successful and efficient economy,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “I am pleased with the progress SaskTel continues to make to enhance the internet service available in our rural communities.”

“In under one year we have extended SaskTel’s interNET Extended 25 to over 100 rural communities,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “This upgraded service will allow residents to enjoy its many benefits including faster download speeds.”

SaskTel interNET Extended 25 service comes with unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 helpdesk support – all for one low monthly price.

These internet upgrades are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $301 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2018/19 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents will continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
