SaskTel delivering faster internet to more Saskatchewan communities

May 29, 2019

SaskTel today announced that it has expanded interNET Extended 50 to seven rural communities, including: Fort Qu’Appelle, Grenfell, Hudson Bay, Indian Head, Ituna, Moosomin, and Wapella. Offering download speeds up to 50 Mbps and upload speeds up to 10 Mbps, interNET Extended 50 delivers the fastest Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services ever available in Saskatchewan!

“Thanks to SaskTel’s efforts, thousands more of our province’s rural residents and businesses are better equipped to participate and benefit from the digital world and economy,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.

With the introduction of interNET Extended 50, residents and businesses in all seven communities have a variety of SaskTel interNET packages to choose from with download speeds ranging from 5-50 Mbps.

“With interNET Extended 50 our customers in these communities have more bandwidth than ever before to surf, stream, download and share as much content online as they want,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel Presidents and CEO. “And, with our expansive wireline network spread throughout the province we’ll be able to bring this level of speed to many more communities all across Saskatchewan.”

These upgrades are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $321 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2019/2020 and over $1.4 billion of capital in Saskatchewan over the next five years. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents will continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
