SaskTel upgrades internet speeds in plenty of rural Saskatchewan communities, Plenty included

December 4, 2019

SaskTel today announced that it has launched interNET Extended 50 in the Village of Plenty along with 14 other rural Saskatchewan communities. Offering download speeds up to 50 Mbps, interNET Extended 50 is the fastest rural internet service SaskTel has ever offered – full list of communities below.

“With this speed upgrade from SaskTel, the residents and businesses in these rural communities are better equipped to benefit from the social, educational and economic opportunities that exist in today’s digital world,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.

With the introduction of interNET Extended 50, residents and businesses in all of these communities have a variety of SaskTel interNET Extended packages to choose from with download speeds ranging from 5-50 Mbps.

“At SaskTel, we’re committed to being the best at connecting our customers to their world,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “With interNET Extended 50, our customers in these communities can access more bandwidth than ever before, taking their ability to share and connect with the online world to the next level.”

All SaskTel interNET Extended packages also come with unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 helpdesk support.

This expansion of interNET Extended 50 is a result of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $321 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2019/20 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
