CDMA network turn-down

We’re committed to providing Saskatchewan residents with the best wireless networks in the province. As technologies evolve, it becomes necessary to turn down older networks so we can focus on newer, faster networks that deliver improved experiences.

On July 5, 2017, the CDMA network was turned down and CDMA wireless devices no longer work. You’ll need to switch to a 4G or LTE device to continue using wireless service.

4G or LTE wireless network
Once you upgrade your device, you’ll enjoy:

  • More coverage. The 4G network covers more of the Saskatchewan population than the CDMA network (4G is available to over 99% of the Saskatchewan population while CDMA is available to 97%).
  • Fast data speeds. If you use email or look at web pages on your phone, you can also take advantage of the faster data speeds that are available on the 4G and LTE networks.
  • Clearer calls. Experience HD voice calls between 4G and LTE phones.

Lightning fast LTE
Our LTE network is fast. You’ll get download speeds of up to 150 Mbps to watch HD movies, listen to music, share pictures and videos, or play games.

We sell wireless boosters and amplifiers to increase signal strength in rural areas. See a SaskTel Store or Dealer  in your area for more information.
