SaskTel continues to upgrade internet speeds in rural Saskatchewan communities

April 3, 2019

Today SaskTel announced the expansion of interNET Extended 25 service to 18 more communities in rural Saskatchewan -- see the list below. Residents and businesses in these communities now have access to download speeds up to 25 Megabits per second (Mbps), the fastest SaskTel has ever offered in rural areas.

“Reliable internet access continues to play an important role in our daily life and is increasingly paramount in managing a successful economy,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “These expansions represent SaskTel’s on-going commitment to provide the benefits associated with reliable internet service residents across the province.”

SaskTel interNET Extended 25 service offers all customers unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 helpdesk support – all for one low monthly price.

“interNET Extended 25 is now available in 120 rural communities, and we are committed to expanding our services further across the province,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “This upgraded service will allow residents to enjoy its many benefits including faster download speeds.”

These internet upgrades are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $301 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2018/19 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents will continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
