SaskTel turns compassion into community impact with 2025 TelCare donations
January 27, 2026
Today, SaskTel is proud to announce nearly $186,000 in TelCare donations for 2025. As 2026 begins, we are also thrilled to recognize SaskTel employees for their continued efforts to support charities and non-profit organizations across the province, located in the communities where they live and work.
TelCare is a volunteer organization of SaskTel employees who contribute donations through an automatic payroll deduction. SaskTel donates 50 cents for each dollar contributed by employees through TelCare. Across the province this year, the program raised $123,900 that when combined with SaskTel’s commitment to match 50 per cent of each donation, has allowed it to donate a total of $185,850 to 47 charitable and non-profit organizations operating in Saskatchewan.
“Through TelCare, SaskTel employees are turning their voluntary contributions into support for organizations that keep communities in Saskatchewan strong, safe, and secure,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “SaskTel’s employee commitment strengthens our communities right across the province each and every day. To build, grow and enhance the quality of life for everyone, throughout the province is a commitment this government takes seriously.”
"TelCare reflects the heart of SaskTel – our people – coming together to lift up organizations that make our communities stronger,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “The funds distributed through this program, matched by SaskTel, are more than donations; they’re tangible steps toward our mission to enrich everyday life for the people of Saskatchewan. Thank you to each employee who donated in 2025, and every community partner for turning generosity into impact.”
There were over 500 SaskTel employees across nine districts in the province donating to the fund this past year. In the Saskatoon district, $2,200 was donated toward Saskatoon Search and Rescue (SSAR), a volunteer-led organization supporting emergency response and searches for missing persons. SSAR will use the donation to upgrade their logistics trailer. The improvements – including safer equipment storage, enhanced visibility, and reliable satellite internet – will help SSAR respond more efficiently and effectively to community needs across Saskatoon and the surrounding area.
“Every year, Saskatoon Search and Rescue respond to missing person activations and other emergencies where time, communication, and safety are critical,” said Carla Eager, President of Saskatoon Search and Rescue. “Our logistics trailer upgrade, supported by SaskTel’s TelCare program, has strengthened the way we operate in the field by helping us provide faster, safer, and more coordinated search efforts for the communities we serve. Thanks to TelCare’s generous support, we’re better equipped to be there when people need us most.”
