Special Olympics Saskatchewan is dedicated to helping make Saskatchewan a more inclusive and welcoming place, and SaskTel is proud to be the organization’s largest Provincial Partner.
Further solidifying our long-term partnership, SaskTel recently received the President's Citation Order of Merit Award at the 2023 Special Olympics Saskatchewan SaskTel Awards Presentation held at Mosaic Stadium’s AGT Lounge in Regina on September 22. Gary Grewal, MLA for Regina Northeast, accepted the award on behalf of SaskTel.
“SaskTel has made an incredible impact on our athletes and their sports programs and competitions for over 20 years,” said Victoria Lacelle, Special Olympics Saskatchewan Director of Marketing and Development. “We are so grateful for this continued partnership and the contributions SaskTel continues to make in our communities.”
Overall, the awards aim to highlight the exceptional work and performances of the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters whose lives have been positively impacted by their involvement with Special Olympics Saskatchewan.
The President's Citation Order of Merit Award is presented to an individual, corporation, group, or organization that has contributed to Special Olympics Saskatchewan with an extraordinary personal or financial donation.
At SaskTel, we’re dedicated to making Saskatchewan an even better place to live by investing in initiatives and programs that positively impact our province through sponsorships under the umbrella of SaskTel Cares.
SaskTel Cares represents all we do for our community, including supporting non-profit organizations and investing in initiatives that positively impact our province like the Special Olympics Saskatchewan SaskTel Awards Presentation.
“With Special Olympics Saskatchewan’s focus on promoting diversity by representing persons with intellectual disabilities, SaskTel is proud to continue to support this fantastic organization as they help to improve quality of life for residents in the communities that they serve,” said Jodine Smith, SaskTel Corporate Communications Manager.
Other notable Special Olympics Saskatchewan events and programs supported by SaskTel over the past two decades include the annual Truck Ride fundraiser and the organization’s Provincial Games and competitions.
“The Special Olympics movement is alive and well in Saskatchewan, thanks to our corporate partnership with SaskTel,” said Victoria. “Athletes, coaches, and volunteers not only have the opportunity to participate and train in sport, form lifelong relationships, and build confidence, but they also have the opportunity to compete and travel, and truly experience the transformative power and joy of sport.”
