Future Aspirations: I am pursuing a career in the field of Information Technology and desire to use my education to serve the Indigenous community. By building a career in Information Technology, I will offer support to those who seek to utilize technology to enhance their businesses. Indigenous-owned businesses are on the rise, and these are the organizations I feel most driven to serve. I hope to be a leader in the field of technology and encourage the representation of Indigenous people as innovators and trailblazers.

Thoughts: Receiving this award has filled me with a sense of accomplishment and created an important pathway for me to achieve my goals. There are always obstacles when one is striving toward something important, and this award symbolizes that perseverance can make anything possible. I am grateful for the generosity of SaskTel as I pursue my ambitions. This award will allow me to dream bigger in both my education and future career.

Future Aspirations: As I am on track to receive my Third Class Power Engineer Certificate once I complete this course, this May, I plan to work for SaskPower for the Summer Student Program at the Shand Power Plant. I want to start working toward becoming a Second Class Power Engineer. I need to start getting my Second Class Steam Time at the Power Plant and challenging my Second Class Exams. I already ordered the six textbooks. Ultimately, I want to be a First Class Power Engineer.

Thoughts: This scholarship is a huge relief and is truly appreciated. As a second year power engineering student, balancing school and life can be stressful, and financial challenges add to that. This support eases some of that burden. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the generosity behind it. Thank you so much.

Future Aspirations: My long-term goal is to develop and deliver financial literacy programs tailored to Indigenous youth — helping them understand the importance of saving, budgeting, credit, and investing in a way that respects and reflects our cultural values. I also plan to build on a nonprofit idea my team created during the mâmawihisicikewin Hackathon, focused on tackling housing and overcrowding in Indigenous communities. Ultimately, I want to travel across communities as both an educator and role model, offering youth the guidance I wish I had growing up — blending business knowledge with culture, mentorship, and hope.

Thoughts: Receiving this scholarship is an incredibly meaningful milestone in my journey. As the first in my family to attend university, this award is a symbol of how far I’ve come and the barriers I’ve overcome. It eases the financial pressures of being a student and allows me to stay focused on what matters most: learning, leading, and giving back. More than anything, it tells me that others believe in my story and my goals, and that support fuels my motivation to keep pushing forward — not just for myself, but for my family, my community, and the generations to come.
