SaskTel is giving fans of the Saskatoon Blades, Saskatchewan Rush, and concert goers even more to cheer. Today, SaskTel announced the recent launch of its 5G network at SaskTel Centre. Delivering hyper-fast data speeds, SaskTel’s 5G network will allow SaskTel customers to connect faster than before without ever leaving their seat. Plus, as the network evolves, it will enable new use cases for emerging wireless technologies that will enhance the in-person fan experience.

“Since 1988, SaskTel Centre has been home to countless concerts, sports and other world-class events,” said Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “I’m pleased that patrons will now be able to enjoy unparalleled connectivity delivered by SaskTel’s 5G network the next time they visit SaskTel Centre and Saskatchewan’s go-to destination for entertainment.”

“At SaskTel, we are committed to keeping our customers connected,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “We’re excited to bring the power of 5G to SaskTel Centre to ensure our customers are better equipped than ever to connect and share the live-event experience with their network of friends and family.”

“We understand how important it is to stay connected in today's digital age, and having SaskTel’s 5G network now covering SaskTel Centre is going to offer our guests an unparalleled experience, whether they are attending a concert, a sports event, or any other show,” said SaskTel Centre’s CEO John Howden, “The partnership between SaskTel and SaskTel Centre is a testament to our mutual commitment to providing the best possible services to our guests and we are appreciative of this opportunity to provide an enhanced, seamless digital experience at all events.”

“Sports entertainment continues to evolve and having SaskTel’s 5G network now available to our fans allows us to improve the overall experience we provide inside SaskTel Centre,” said Colin Priestner, President of the Saskatchewan Rush and Saskatoon Blades. “We’re thrilled at the new possibilities this network will provide to our game night entertainment and also for our fans to remain connected and to be able to share their experience.”

SaskTel’s deployment of 5G at SaskTel Centre is part of its commitment to invest more than $1.6 billion of capital across Saskatchewan over the next five years. These investments will help Saskatchewan accelerate its transition to becoming a smart province and ensure it remains one of the most well-connected regions in the country.

In order to connect to 5G at SaskTel Centre, SaskTel customers need to have a 5G capable device that is certified for use on the SaskTel 5G network and subscribe to a 5G compatible wireless plan.
