SaskTel renews support for communities displaced by Northern Saskatchewan wildfires

SaskTel

August 15, 2025

SaskTel is once again extending support measures for customers impacted by the ongoing wildfires in northern Saskatchewan. Previously set to expire on August 15th, these supports will now remain in place until September 5th for residents of communities that have been evacuated due to wildfire activity.

"As we continue to deal with a very unsettled fire situation in our province's north, our government and SaskTel are ensuring that families forced to leave their homes do not face data overage fees or bills for home phone, TV and internet services they cannot use," said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. "With so many families still away from home due to these devastating wildfires, we hope this continued support brings some relief and reassurance during an incredibly difficult time."

Customers from evacuated communities will continue to receive the following support:

  • Waived wireless data overage charges
  • Credited charges for SaskTel Internet, maxTV Stream, and Home Phone services

This support will be applied automatically and will remain in effect for eligible communities under evacuation until September 5, 2025.

Please note that the situation is continually evolving, and evacuation orders for affected locations may change at any time.
