Scott Smith

Chief Financial Officer

Scott Smith was appointed Chief Financial Officer in October 2023. Prior to his appointment, Scott served as Controller for SaskTel for the past 11 years and was responsible for SaskTel’s financial process and controls, and external financial reporting.

During his 24-year career at SaskTel, Scott has held a number of positions within the Finance Department including auditing, managing debt and cash requirements, external investment acquisition and governance, and facilitating budget and planning processes. As part of senior management, Scott has led several business transformation initiatives and also served as the Chief Financial Officer of Navigata, where he was responsible for financial results and leading the former expansion division’s integration into SaskTel.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in accounting. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation. Scott has also completed the CPA Controllership Program and holds a certificate in Advanced Trust Management Standards. Scott is a board member of SaskTel International and SaskTel’s Pension Plan.
