Don Atchison

Don Atchison is an independent business consultant. Previously, he was involved in Saskatoon city council for almost a quarter of a century; his 13 years as Mayor make him the longest-serving Mayor in the city's history.

Mr. Atchison was invested with the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in 2019 and named a Paul Harris Fellow by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. He was awarded the Medal of Merit by the International Association of Lions Clubs, the Consumer Choice "Man of the Year” Award, and the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance President's Award for Public Sector Supporter. He was also recognized as an Ambassador by the Saskatoon and Region Home Builders' Association and recognized by the Saskatoon Police Service.

Don has served on many boards and committees over the years which includes SaskWater, SaskPower, SGI, Canadian Rail Safety Committee, and Chair of the Saskatoon Police Commission, sitting on the Honours Advisory Council for the Province of Saskatchewan.

Don was born and raised in Saskatoon where all his formal schooling occurred. Don and his wife Mardele have 5 children and 13 grandchildren.
