Jeff Richards

Jeff Richards was recently elected Mayor of Weyburn after serving two consecutive terms on City Council. He is also the Executive Director of the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop, a medium sized non-profit dedicated to the service of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Jeff is a dedicated community builder and a leader. He has served as the Board Chair at Weyburn Credit Union, Board Chair of the Weyburn & District United Way, The Weyburn Regional District Planning Commission, the Weyburn Board of Police Commissioners and others. He has also served on the Boards of two other Crown Corporations; SaskWater and SaskPower. In 2022 Jeff was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of his service to community.

Over the past decade he has invested in governance studies. Jeff has achieved the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has also graduated from the Credit Union Director Achievement program and the Municipal Governance program at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
